So easy, so great. Try it, you know you want to:-) While the gelatin is sitting in the water for a few minutes, boil the sugar. Add it all together and whip for 10-12 minutes. I literally set the timer and came and shut it off at the 12 min. mark, so it really only took about 5mins of my time (boiling the sugar).
Stir in the flavouring etc, as per the recipe, and let set for 4-5 hours in a greased pan.
Make the icing sugar & cornstarch mixture. Cut the marshmallows. Use clean kitchen scissors, and snip downward, dip in the sugar mixture before each snip to keep it un-sticky and easy. One small/normal snip will give you about a 1x1 marshmallow (top dimensions, it's a little deeper, maybe 2", you can cut them as big or small as you want. It feels really weird/cool to do this.
Lots of 'mallows! Kenna is a little disturbed that I don't have a recipe to make round ones:-) The square shape irks her. I think they would look great half dipped in chocolate, yum!
We had to try them out in hot chocolate right away! A very easy recipe even young kids could do alone (8-10 years old or so, aside from the boiling sugar part).
