Incredible Discovery - Video

I was cleaning the bathroom, and the kids were playing together, amazingly. I had to try and capture a moment or two on tape. Kenna was singing to him and talking to him, and helping him bounce. I really can't wait until he's mobile, they will have so much fun together!

Randomness

A couple random shots from today...

My Grandma painted this for me, (dark red roses are my favourite flower, and forget-me-nots are a close second). It looks amazing in our hallway!

Jordan's Wedding

It was a very nice day on Saturday. It rained very lightly the whole time, which was actually pretty nice as it seemed to take an edge off the heat. It was a beautiful day!

This was the setup before everything got underway

Milestones

Kenna's first molar came in today! I noticed she had a slight fever yesterday, but no new teeth, so it just popped through today...she now has 6 teeth, with a 7th almost in - she is very slow with getting teeth.
Brooks can roll over, and actually fell off the couch on Sunday. Bad Mommy! :-( Of course he is totally fine, but we we really have to watch him now. He's officially out of the infant stage I guess.
In other news we had my Aunt & Uncle in town (they left this morning)...we really enjoyed having them (and all the cousins!). I will post pics when we get back from Myrtle Beach, with all the excitement going on around here, I actually didn't even take any yet. We'll have to set up a little photo shoot on the beach for all the kids, and hopefully we'll get some good wedding footage too.

Play Station

Brooks is getting so big! I really can't believe how the time is flying. Here he is playing with his new play station. Amazingly Kenna loves it more now than she did when she was a baby. Now she "gets" all the toys, so she operates the sound and motion and Boo Boo watches her. I guess they have started to play together!

Zucchini Casserole - Recipe

I am always on the lookout for an easy recipe that makes 'plain' foods (like zucchini) taste great. Aunt Jonne made this casserole while we were in NJ, and it was so good!

4 medium zucchini, diced (about 4 cups)
2 medium onions, chopped (frozen, fresh or dried)
3 large eggs
1/2 C vegetable oil
1/2 C grated cheddar cheese
1 C bisquick
1 t salt
1 t pepper
1 t oregano

Mix everything except eggs and oil in a greased 2 qt casserole dish.
Beat eggs, add oil, then pour over zucchini mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes uncovered
Note: this can be overcooked, undercooked, or reheated and it is still delicious.

New Jersey

We visited Brian's Uncle & Aunt, Bill & Jonne Bolger, in Long Beach Island, NJ on our way home from NY. Brian did not come with us, as he is still working and will be home next weekend. We had a really good time! It has been 3.5 years since we last saw them!

Bunny

Can you tell I have more time than usual on my hands? I am afraid once I get home there will not be nearly as many pictures taken and posted. This is Kenna dressing up as a bunny from a hand-me-down halloween costume (or maybe an easter outfit?:-)

She's even got the rabbit teeth going on here

Notice her lovely 'armpit' bracelet!

Multi-tasking

Kenna is a busy kid, she loves to carry things around with her, she usually has 2 to 3 items stuffed in her little arms, and attemps to pick up more treasures as she goes. I pared down her selection for her nap today, 1 stuffed animal, 1 book, and some milk. Amazingly it seems she can read the book, drink the bottle, hug the stuffed animal and sleep, all at the same time! Her talent never ceases to amaze me!

Compare!

This is Kennedy on 6/9/06, so she was almost 3 months old

And here is Brooks at just over 3 months.

Man Cub

Is three pictures overkill in this instance? I thought he was really cute, and he always looks so different, depending on his expression...

This picture reminds me of someone...Davis maybe? I really think he has Brent's eyes though.

Sometimes he looks a little Asian or something...

Talking to Mommy. What an adorable little boy (in my humble opinion of course)

Buh Bye Daddy

Brian had to leave for work early this morning, of course we all got up to say goodbye. He is working in the Adirondacks with his dad, remodeling a Bed & Breakfast. We won't see him for 2 weeks as we are leaving NY next weekend to head back to Virginia, and he is working through the weekend and will leave for VA the following Friday. We miss you Daddy!

Everyone is jealous of Daddy and needs hugs

Cheesy

This is my other handsome boy, being totally cheesy. He got a haircut today, thats 2 in 3 months, a new record! I know everyone always wants to see a new look, so I will post it anyway, despite the lovely grin:-D

Cutie Pie

Brooks was enthralled with this green ball. He was talking to it and going crazy trying to grab it. He's my handsome boy.

Hiding

Kenna is trying to hide behind...er...carry a bag of chips. She's a teeny little thing for sure!

Buddha

Brooks is now a chubby three months old! He's so kissable!

Eh

This years Civic holiday (8/2/07) got me thinking about home, and wondering why there is no such long weekend holiday in August in the US. ?. Who knows. There must be something worth celebrating. All I know is that my mind jumps back to the things I once knew...Thanksgiving is always on a Monday, for example. I have to do a double take and keep on checking the calendar here...when is Thanksgiving anyway? Too close to Christmas is how I tend to think about it. Home sweet home. I am pretty much adapted to my surroundings though...Saw-rry, soda, even y'all when appropriate. I almost always remember the (in)correct spelling of words like Savior, color, labor and neighborhood. I really miss the "u" though. Oh well, no long weekend in August... we shall somehow survive. Vive la Canada!

Counting fingers - Video

Kenna's language is one that only a mother, or more specifically her mother can decipher. Let me translate for you. She says "two, four, five, six, eight and nine" with a few "Daddy's" thrown in there for good measure. She started doing this about a week ago...counting all the numbers in the right order!

Brooks, 3 months - Video

Brooks is 3 months old tomorrow! He's really getting so much more alert and wanting to grab at things and play with toys. He has the most beautiful smile! He still has about one fussy period each day where he just does not want to fall asleep or eat, or do anything but cry - usually from around 7pm to 8 or so.
