Biking
I love living on a cul-de-sac! We love playing on the street, with no traffic! Kenna is learning how to pedal and steer at the same time. So hard!
Brooks, riding "White Lightening". This trike was Kenna's, and it was pink and purple. This year he refused to ride it, as it was a girls bike! So I grabbed the spray paint, but all I had was white, so I primed it all in white, and we'll go to Home Depot and pick out another colour to finish it off. I told him we could name it White Lightening, since he can go as fast as lightening! That is a bit of a motherly exaggeration, as he can't really go forward very well yet, only backwards:-) He didn't get a lot of chance to practice last summer, so this is really his first time to practice. We'll get him another bike this summer, but this should get him used to pedaling anyway!
The audience. Big Grey watching from the sidelines. Click here to see Kenna and Brooks in the same stroller (they are wearing the same onesie though, I will have to see if I still have it). Grey is only 2 months old, compared to their 3, but he's just as big! Kenna was 10.10lbs at 2 months, Brooks was 13.9lbs at 2 months. So Grey wins that one with his 15.6lbs!
Steer Kenna, don't crash into Brooks!
His try on the big bike. Because he can only pedal backwards, and this bike has brakes, he doesn't go anywhere...but he really likes the colours of it!
Her old bike, now a new shade:-)

Off the Charts
Grey weighed 15.6 lbs at 2 months and 4 days old. The little dot lines up with about the 120% mark, but I guess they don't really count above 100%. So he's off the charts! He was 76% for height today. Quite the opposite of Brooks, who was always in the 90's for height and the 70's for weight. He's definitely our heaviest baby so far. Although he had an advantage with his birth weight!

Love Quotes
Those that know me well, know that I love quotes! I have quite a collection of my faves. I made this little scrapbook, as an experiment (trying out a new thing with paper folding), and it turned out really cute. The finished size is 3.5x3.5, and it reminded me of those little advice books that you can buy (because of it's size). I should make one with all my memories from Along the Road on this blog. I decided to fill this one with handwritten love quotes. There are excerpts from "our song", some great Bible verses, and some of our favourite quotes, all pertaining to love:-) It is completely adorable, and I am going to be making many more I think. Its supposed to be a mini scrapbook or brag book, but now that I am on the quote kick, I think it would make an adorable addition to a baby gift, full of advice or quotes about babies/parenting etc. Endless possibilities!
The cover, a stamped phrase saying "heart to heart, hand in hand"
The last page...and one of my favourite quotes of all time. "I do" - Brian
So because I love quotes so much, here are all the ones I put in this little book. Some of them may not make much sense to you, as they have story behind them:-)
This is my beloved, and this is my friend... Song of Solomon 5:16
Seek beauty and miss love. But seek love and find both. Max Lucado
Where thou art, that is home. Emily Dickinson
Let us exalt His name together. Psalm 34:3
Gaol Dilseachd Cairdeas inscribed on our wedding bands "love, loyalty, friendship" Gaelic
Some moments are worth several lifetimes. Anonymous
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. Helen Keller
And she called me an ugly American. And I would call her my Canadian flower... Canadian Rose, Blues Traveler
"We'll be friends forever, won't we Pooh?" asked Piglet. "Even longer" Pooh answered A.A. Milne
Came but for friendship, and took away love. Thomas Moore
Love is patient, love is kind...love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. I Corinthians 13:4-7
I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. Roy Croft
Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labour. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be... Robert Browning
...I'll be better when I'm older, I'll be the greatest fan of your life. I'll Be, Edwin McCain
May they never take each others love for granted, but always experience that breathless wonder that exclaims, "out of all this world, you have chosen me." Prayer for the Bride and Groom
Overwhelmed by this gift God has given, together we face the unknown. With a prayer and a promise, Love, this is the end of alone. The End of Alone, Joshua Dufek
I do. Brian

Weigh in
On the home scale, Lleyton is 16 lbs!! He is just shy of 2 months old. We'll see what he weighs at his 2 month checkup next week. He certainly isn't starving, but I am sure he will probably weigh a little less on an official scale. Heaven forbid he weigh more! He feels like 30+ pounds after 20 minutes, that is for sure. He's very smiley and talkative now, making all kinds of sounds and faces at us. He's a social one, and I can tell already from his vocal intonation that he's going to be a talker like his sister and brother. It's like he's having conversations with you in "ooo's" and "aaa's". Such a cutie, and really good baby too!

Eat-More
I am helping out with VBS this year at church, since Kenna is old enough to go (and they have nursery for the young'uns)...it's a Candy Land theme, and so I need to come up with my "name". Yikes! So for inspiration, I was looking at a candy site, to see a variety of candy names to choose from.
Canada, for the record, and for those that don't know, has a superior selection of candy and chocolate bars, compared to the US. All Americans that have been to Canada will concur.
However, there is one blight on the Canadian candy-list... Eat-More. It has to be the grossest chocolate bar I've ever had (and there is no chocolate in it). I would liken it to tar...or Vegemite in Australia...it's just one of those gross "national treasures". My Dad likes Eat-More (he's crazy). This candy reviewer obviously liked it too. We used to joke as kids, it should be named Eat-Less:-)
And I still don't have a name...suggestions? (Lots of them are already claimed, like Skittles and Cotton Candy etc, so I am having to get rare/creative)

Baby Mine - Video
When I was working for the Institute I bought a CD of country artists singing Disney songs. This was one of my faves (from Dumbo), called Baby Mine sung by Allison Krauss. Now that I have kids, I find myself singing it all the time as a lullaby, because it's so sweet and peaceful sounding.
Country Boy Contest
*Since somebody doesn't have facebook, (C.S.), this post is for you;-) Check out Karilynn Photography, here. Kari takes amazing pictures!
There is a contest going on to win a Taylor guitar. This was Logan's/Kari's entry (not sure who would officially win the guitar...I think Kari would, since she entered the picture. This first picture is the one that was submitted. It was sort of a rushed job, as the deadline for the entries is today I think, and she only got back into town yesterday. Nice job! Looks like pictures from a CD cover, if you ask me.

Mothers Day
After church and lunch we headed to the beach for the first time this season. The kids were beyond thrilled and Brian and loved walking the boardwalk. There is something so refreshing about that ocean air!
Kiss a fish!
She is slightly better with the posing
There was a little horse corral set up on the beach...I think they were giving rides...we didn't hang around to find out
She's taking a picture of the Neptune statue on her new camera. She's so cute!
Heading to the water to check out the temperature. It was not too cold! Kenna really wishes she had her "summer suit" on (bathing suit)!
Lleyton Grey's first trip to the beach! Here's his ride
We had to try and rig up blankets and the sun shades to keep the wind out of his face
I definitely am having a happy Mothers Day! Tonight we plan to watch a chick flick (it's a huge sacrifice for Brian to volunteer that one!) and eat nachos and popcorn. Perfect day!

Fun Times
Party for Brooks
These are randomly ordered pictures from Brooks' party
He got cowboy dress-up gear. Complete with a map and canteen! No more princess dresses for the big boy!
He blew out the candles on his cake!
Showing his new age, in fingers
His favourite TV show is Team Umizoomi. On that show a few weeks ago, there was an episode about an ice cream truck, and it needed more ice cream pizzas, so they had to find all the components and make the ice cream pizza. Brooks decided he wanted one. So here is the recipe, from Umi City:-) (they made small ones, we made one big one)...Enjoying it with Gracie and Libby!
I made a giant chocolate chip cookie, covered it in cake batter ice cream, and the kids went crazy with the candy!

Rock Star Cake
Brooks wanted a guitar cake for his birthday, and I was able to find a guitar shaped cake pan at Michaels, so here was my process!
I purchased a blob of white fondant. I had to colour it brown, black, and another shade of brown, for all the parts...I rolled it out over icing sugar to keep it from sticking
Chocolate cake
Covered in fondant
Cutting out all my shapes and placing them on the guitar
Icing is on, everything in place, and we're done! Except for the trimming around the bottom. I was disappointed that I couldn't get the strings any straighter. It's hard to make a line of icing that long without it 'breaking' or being crooked. I tried!
Now we're all done! It looks shiny in parts, as it was still drying...I used qtips with a bit of water on them to wipe the icing sugar off the black parts (it was pretty obvious)
Looks like a real guitar? Pretty close anyway!
The mess afterwards
