Well, July came quickly. Actually this whole 2021 has been a blur! Our Canada Day traditions have evolved over the years and become more food involved:-)
Getting our July door Decor Out!Kroger happened to have huge white and red impatiens on sale for 4.99 for a massive hanger. I split them and put them in my own hangers, but it fit the mood just right.
Fake tattoo. And my "Grandma" shoes๐. If I ever did get a real tattoo tho, this would likely be it. I think.
We get Raspberry Bismarcks - because they're donuts, and they're red & white. What could be more Canadian than that?! (Shhhh, we bought them from Dunkin๐)
I made butter tarts.
I made Nanaimo Bars
We watched Anne of Green Gables
And Corner Gas
And adults only did Schitts Creek
I posted a few funnies on my IG stories - things that are Canadian.
Like "soya" instead of the US soy
And the large selections of margarine
And old cheese (compared to the US sharp)
And milk in bags (that's my Grandma's counter, kitchen table, and milk jug. I miss her)
We made homemade Timmy's Chocolate Chills
We made Vale Mac & Cheese in ode to Kraft Dinner - with ketchup please!
The bridge in Anne, falling apart last time I saw it, and now, it's gone ๐
Homemade fries for a poutine and rotisserie chicken (store bought) dinner. Ode to Swiss Chalet - and poutine ๐
I did mint Nanaimo for the first time ever for the kids - they liked it but thought maybe regular was better. Huh. I like the mint.
I was a DELICIOUS day, and we enjoyed it thoroughly while not being able to be there.
