Birthday - Video

Happy Birthday to me! Still don't know what my plans are for the day...since Brian's mom is in town (to watch the kids), we may go out to eat...I'm saving my cake for Sunday at the Superbowl party...trying to limit cheat days on my diet, and also, with lots of people to consume the cake, there will be no leftovers to tempt me later. Perfect plan.

So, for any curious folks, I'm now 33 years old. I don't really feel any older than 18 in certain ways. But in other ways I suppose I am light years from 18.

Speaking of 18...when I was 18, I had a surprise birthday party. Here is some footage from the VHS tape. They planned this party to happen upstairs, while I was downstairs. So my house filled with people, and I had no idea! Also, at the beginning of the tape was my birthday breakfast...it was a Sunday that day, so we're in church clothes (but I don't have any makeup on yet!). So hilarious to see HOW YOUNG we all were, Lehman and Maryn weren't even born yet. I got a pair of gold hoop earrings from my parents as my big gift that year.

  2. Lol...okay talk about the pictures that you DON'T want the world to see! LOL...let's just be reminded that video was taken 15 years ago - we have all made huge improvements since then! But I must say, the little kids were pretty darn cute:-)

I still can't believe how truly clueless you were - and you omitted the part that you had gone into the garage and seen literally 20 bottles of pop and chips galore and believed me when I told you that mom was stocking up from a good sale:-P That was the best surprise party ever!

  4. It was hilarious how clueless I was. And how mom kept trying to get me to dress up all day, and I remained in sweats. It has to be one of the best pulled-off surprises of all time! And of course I believed you...I had no reason to doubt, and you know mom and sales, lol!

  5. Uh, and YES. Hello. You were barely 13 Lauryn? Yikes. And seeing some faces in the crowds, like Sarah M and Stephanie K, it's CRAZY how much people have changed! Even Mark! I think we *thought* we were cool...but alas...oooo boy!
