Shall We Dance?

Vale is so charming when she wants to be πŸ˜‡ She walks up to someone, offers her hand and says "Shall we dance?" and it's the cutest thing ever! I missed catching it on camera, but thankfully she consented to a redo!

Happy 43 to Me!

Boom! I woke up 43! Feeling like I look every minute of it, but that's another post for another dayπŸ˜†I picked Cap'n Crunch Berries for my cereal, and despite being on my "diet" (keto/lifestyle), I ate it. Yolo.

My birthday was a Wednesday, and the kids have Youth Group & Awanas that night - because of having to miss multiple nights for covid cancelations, I didn't want to have them skip. They ate Irish Spaghetti, we dropped them at church and then Brian, Vale and I went on to Keagan's (Irish Pub Restaurant) for dinner until it was time to pick them up.

We were going to celebrate with "real cake" (Mars Bar cake) the following Sunday, but Vale insisted on a cake that day, so we picked up a Carvel ice cream cake for that night after church. Well, Vale fell asleep on the way from restaurant to church, and by the time we got home, she was so OUT. Could not be awakened...so we ate it without herπŸ˜‚ But we saved some for a repeat the next day with her. Toddlers are the best for not knowing what day it is, haha.

The next afternoon, we pulled out the cake and she was so surprised!! "WHO ATE DA CAKE?!", then quickly excused the bad behaviour, deciding it was fine, her dragon must have done it, and he's a real scallywag. The dragon, also to note, accompanied us to the "weg-li-er west-a-want" (regular restaurent, she claims this to be her favourite kind of eating establishment). We put candles in the remaining portion of the cake and the kids sang!

Vale made me a "Muvvers day coyd" with ducks on the inside AND the outside, and also "paw prints" (her traced hands) so I could follow the clues (to what I'm not sureπŸ˜…)

Some makeup improved my look a little πŸ˜‰

Birthdays sure are great when you have people around you who love you! πŸ’

Learning Hook

Brooks is learning/perfecting all his favourite songs. Thanks to the stellar influence of his rockin' parents, he's into 90s alternative rock - so we don't mind hearing him practice πŸ˜‚ Lots of Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows, Blues Traveler (this song is by them) and Third Day. Such fun to watch their skills develop as their love for music grows.
