Great Aunt Kathleen

Yesterday Kenna met Brian's Aunt, Kathleen and cousin, Erin for the first time. We had a really nice visit! Aunt Kathleen brought her a spill proof bubble thingy, and she loves it, so I will have to get some shots of her chasing bubbles (or trying to blow them, which is way more funny).

Sweet boy

A sweet shot of those chubby fingers:-)

Engaged

My sister Lauryn got engaged to Mark Newallo 2 weeks ago in Niagara Falls, ON (no date announced yet for the wedding). Here are some gorgeous pics of them before and after the proposal. Congrats Mark & Lauryn!

More fun with climbing stairs.

Balcony - Video

Balconies are the source of non-stop fun for kids. Thankfully Grandma B. has 2 of them!

Tubby Time

Here's Kenna's enjoying a bath at Grandma's last night. Brian took the camera to his jobsite, so the grainy quality is courtesy of the video camera.

Baptism

Ann and Meghan were baptized yesterday in the lake at Good Tidings camp. Ann is working there this summer as the assistant chef. Anyway, it was a very special day.

Blast from the past

I just found these pics I had never seen before on my in-laws computer. This is Auntie Lauren and Kenna from February I think.

Great Grandma Kavanagh

Grandma Kavanagh made the trip up from Middletown, NY to see the kids and attend the baptism.

Brooks was thrilled with his Great Grandma:-/

Kenna stole Mommy sunglasses!

At a wedding

On Friday we went to Hannah Franks' wedding (childhood friend of Brian and his sisters), it was very beautiful. Here are a few random shots from the occasion. Notice Brian's haircut!! He had it cut about a month ago and I haven't snapped a pic yet. We had a family pic taken, but it's on another camera so I will get around to posting it tomorrow I hope.

Kenna was getting a little reprimand here, and you can see the displeased look on her face...she makes this guilty face a lot!

Playing Outside

This is Kenna playing on the deck off the kitchen. There are no stairs on it, so it's like a really big playpen for her!

New York

We made it to New York...what a trip! You just get one happy and the other one flips out. Took us 11 hrs with stops and traffic, but we're here!! Kenna is very tired today, as you can sort of see on her face. Here she is with Auntie Meghan.

Bumbo seat

Brian left for work early this Saturday, and as I was trying to get ready for the day, I got the kids up and put Brooks in the Bumbo seat for the first time. Kenna took it upon herself to babysit him by reading a book. Too cute!

Kisses!

Marinated Chicken Pita Recipe

We tried this last night for the first time, it was really good!
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • About 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
  • pita bread
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  1. Combine the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, oregano, garlic powder, and pepper in a large resealable bag. Add chicken cubes, mix well, and allow to marinate in the refrigerator 3 hours or overnight.
  2. Pour the chicken and marinade into a frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink. Stuff each half of the pocket bread with chicken, onion, tomato, and yogurt; serve while still hot.
This would also be good with tzatziki sauce instead of the yogurt. It was quick, easy, and really tasty!

Playing

Last night Brian was raking the yard and Kenna was playing and watching. She tried to walk down the slide and landed on her head!

Crocs

Kenna wanted to wear her new shoes as soon as she got up (we were waiting on the dryer for her shorts by the way). She just got them last night, and I think she likes how squishy they are. Last night was the final 2 games of the softball season, unless they make the playoffs, which they might, depending on what the other teams do. They lost both games last night though:-( Kenna loves cheering "Go, Go, Go!"
