Hanging out watching the Canada vs. US Olympic hockey game. Kenna is all into being Daddy's "twin", so she was cheering for the blue team (USA), and Brooks and I cheered for the white-team-wiff-red-stripes (aka "Ca-may-dians"). Of course Brian was elated with the last second US tie in the 3rd...and then in overtime when Canada scored they buzzed the goal buzzer for a really long time in celebration, which spooked out Brooks who covered his ears and cried. Lol. Then when Kenna found out that she "lost", she cried too. She just "really wanted the blue team to win". So we watched the medal ceremony and explained how the medals worked and silver is still really good, just not quite as nice as gold:-)
I remember watching the Olympics in Torino in 2006 (right before Kenna was born) and thinking the next time I saw this, I would have a 4 year old, which was really unfathomable at the time. And wow, it's hard to believe!! I can't believe how much she's grown in 4 short years. It seemed so far in the future in 2006, and now I don't even know where the time has gone!
U-S-eh! All the way! We were very happy to cheer for our Canadian and American athletes.
